Luar Batang Mosque (North Jakarta)


Luar Batang Mosque is a mosque located in the Fish Market area, North Jakarta. In this mosque there is the tomb of a scholar named Alhabib Abubakar bin Hussein bin Abdillah Al 'Aydrus who died on June 24, 1756.

The name of this mosque is given in accordance with the nickname Habib Husein, namely Habib Luar Batang. He is so called because supposedly buried past when Habib Husein, when carried to the "rod brackets", his body suddenly gone.

It lasts up to three times. Finally, the congregation was then agree to bury him in his place today. So the point, out of the "rod brackets". The mosque is often visited by pilgrims from various corners of the country.
